Life
Gianna Terzi was born in Thessaloniki in 1980 and grew up in a musical environment; the singer Paschalis Terzis is her father. Her own path combined music-theory training with recording and performance. The album Γύρνα το κλειδί (Turn the Key) appeared in 2006, followed by the album Άσε με να ταξιδέψω (Let Me Travel) in 2008. She later moved to the United States, where she developed English-language writing and recordings. The single Love Is Your Name illustrates that part of her career. Working between languages gave her experience as a writer as well as a performer.
For Eurovision 2018 she returned to a Greek-language song, Όνειρό μου (My Dream). She shared its music and lyric credits with Aris Kalimeris, Dimitris Stamatiou and Michalis Papathanasiou. In a contemporary interview, she described it as the first song she had written in Greek, after writing in English abroad. That refers to authorship: her earlier Greek albums had already established her as a singer. She performed the entry for Greece in Lisbon’s first semifinal and did not qualify for the final. Later in 2018 came the single Karma, co-written with Teo Arkitekt. Its official artist release connects the song with opposition to bullying, extending her Greek songwriting beyond the contest.
Works

The albums Γύρνα το κλειδί (Turn the Key, 2006) and Άσε με να ταξιδέψω (Let Me Travel, 2008) belong to Terzi’s early Greek recording period. Their titles already show how short everyday expressions can sit inside popular song. Her later writing takes a more explicit authorial role. The single Όνειρό μου (My Dream, 2018) combines Greek words with a prominent vocal arrangement. Terzi described the song as a dialogue between Greece and Greeks, shaped by longing for her country while abroad. The personified exchange gives a collective sense of belonging the shape of an intimate conversation.
The single Karma (2018), written with Teo Arkitekt, links actions and consequences in its statement against bullying. The official artist channel offers Greek and English versions, so a learner should choose the Greek recording for Greek listening. The duet Για σένα μόνο (Only for You, 2020), with Paschalis Terzis, credits her writing and collaboration with Padé. Across these projects she works as performer and creator. For A2, the title Όνειρό μου provides a smaller language focus: μου means my and σου means your in το όνειρό μου / το όνειρό σου (my dream / your dream). Learners then describe their own aspiration with a new sentence.
Legacy in Greece today
The official Eurovision artist page for Yianna Terzi offers the Greek recording of Όνειρό μου (My Dream) and its credits. Listen for the title in the opening lines, then bring the noun into your own life. Write Το όνειρό μου είναι να μάθω ελληνικά (My dream is to learn Greek). Ask a partner Ποιο είναι το όνειρό σου; (What is your dream?). Keep μου (my) and σου (your) beside the Greek examples so you can see whose dream each sentence concerns. Replace the learning goal with a small trip or another realistic wish. Share one step you can take towards it. You practise personal expression through a Greek song title without treating the song’s whole allegorical dialogue as elementary conversation.
