Life
Born in Germany and raised in Greece, Andromache developed her musical interests before entering the recording industry. In a 2018 interview, she described beginning piano lessons at eleven and later singing at school events. Greek traditional music was an important reference point. She explained that she wanted to pursue singing in Greece because she sang in Greek and loved that musical tradition. Her stage name appears internationally as Andromache; her full name is Andromachi Dimitropoulou.
Television brought her to a wider audience through The Voice of Greece in 2015. She subsequently joined Panik Records, and her recording debut, Το φεγγάρι (The Moon), appeared in 2017. Giorgos Papadopoulos wrote the song. She also developed her own songwriting: her label credits her with writing Δεν μπορώ (I Cannot) and Δε σε διάλεξα (I Did Not Choose You). Live collaborations with singers including Konstantinos Argyros, Nikos Vertis and Nikos Oikonomopoulos formed another part of her professional experience. In 2022, she represented Cyprus, rather than Greece, at Eurovision in Turin. The international appearance introduced her to listeners beyond the Greek music market, while subsequent releases continued her Greek-language recording career.
Works

Andromache’s catalogue connects contemporary pop with the traditional music she discusses in interviews. The early single Το φεγγάρι (The Moon) introduced her recorded voice with a song by Giorgos Papadopoulos. Να ’σουν ψέμα (If Only You Were a Lie), released in 2019, became a breakthrough on radio and streaming services, according to the European Broadcasting Union. The sequence also includes her own songwriting, rather than an exclusively interpretative role: Panik identifies Δεν μπορώ (I Cannot) and Δε σε διάλεξα (I Did Not Choose You) as songs she wrote.
Ela (Come), her Eurovision entry in 2022, places Greek and English within the same song. Its international writing team was led by Alex Papaconstantinou and included Giorgos Papadopoulos. Marvin Dietmann and Dan Shipton were responsible for the stage presentation. Cyprus finished twelfth in the second semifinal and did not advance to the final. Ela also became the title of a 2022 album gathering her recordings. Later singles include Καλέ… Ποιος είναι αυτός; (Well… Who Is That?) in 2025 and Σούσουρο (A Stir) in 2026. Their Greek titles offer different everyday voices: an invitation, an exclamation with a question, and a noun for excited talk.
Legacy in Greece today
Andromache offers a route between Greek popular music and an international television audience. Her interviews make her interest in Greek traditional music explicit, while Ela lets listeners hear Greek and English within one recording. Start with the official Eurovision video and identify the Greek title έλα (come). Then use this page’s adapted passage to create your own invitation: Έλα στην παρέα μας (Come and join us) to one friend, and Ελάτε στην παρέα μας (Come and join us) to two friends. Add a day and time, then answer a partner’s invitation. These are original practice sentences. The task turns a familiar song title into a useful social exchange.
