Life
Amanda Tenfjord spent her early years in Ioannina before moving to Norway as a small child. The Norwegian community of Tennfjord became part of her upbringing and public artistic identity. According to ERT’s selection announcement, she began piano lessons at five and wrote her first songs as a teenager. Her professional development took place within the Norwegian pop scene, while her connection with Greece also became part of her work as a performer and songwriter.
The EP First Impression appeared in 2018, followed by Miss the Way You Missed Me in 2021. In December 2021, ERT selected her to represent Greece at Eurovision after hearing the shortlisted artists’ proposals. She performed Die Together in Turin in 2022 and reached eighth place in the final. That year also brought the debut album In Hindsight and the bilingual collaboration AMAN with Evangelia. Alongside music, she pursued medical studies in Trondheim. The Norwegian Medical Association’s original interview records that she passed her medical degree examination in May 2022. In interviews for Greek television she spoke about the feeling behind Die Together and the responsibility of representing Greece, adding her own perspective to the international coverage surrounding the contest.
Works

First Impression, her 2018 EP, contains four songs, including Let Me Think and No Thanks. The five-track EP Miss the Way You Missed Me followed in 2021. In an early interview, she described turning a piano sketch for First Impression into a song about a charming first encounter that proves superficial. Die Together, released in 2022, is also in English. The EBU credits the music to Amanda Georgiadi Tenfjord and Bjørn Helge Gammelsæter, and the lyrics to Tenfjord. Its eighth-place Eurovision result brought that songwriting to a large international television audience.
AMAN offers a different language combination. Released in September 2022, it features Evangelia and places Greek beside English. In the label’s release presentation, Tenfjord describes wanting a Greek verse and inviting Evangelia to collaborate. They revised the chorus and parts of the lyrics through a remote writing session. The song appears on In Hindsight, released in October 2022 through Propeller Recordings. That thirteen-track album follows the changing stages of a relationship, as Tenfjord explained in an interview. Her work therefore connects a Norwegian production setting, English-language songwriting and a deliberate Greek collaboration. The Greek exclamation αμάν in the title is also a useful reminder that a voice’s tone helps shape how a short expression is understood.
Legacy in Greece today
Tenfjord’s Greek cultural connection rests on actual performances, songwriting and interviews as well as her background. Die Together is English listening; AMAN provides a Greek-English recording, and Greek texts published by broadcasters provide reading practice. Begin with the official AMAN recording and recognise the title αμάν. Then try this page’s original everyday example: Αμάν, το λεωφορείο έφυγε! (Oh no, the bus has left!). In this situation it expresses annoyance. Continue with Ευτυχώς, έρχεται το επόμενο (Fortunately, the next one is coming). Say both with a partner and compare frustration with relief. The example is a learner’s invented bus journey, separate from the song’s words or the singer’s biography.
