Life
Natassa Bofiliou was born in 1983. Her recording career began in 2004 with Ασπιρίνη (Aspirin), written by composer Kostas Tsirkas and lyricist Gerasimos Evangelatos. The song appeared in the Mikri Arktos label’s project for new artists. Her first full album, Εκατό μικρές ανάσες (A Hundred Small Breaths), followed in 2005. Its thirteen songs brought together Tsirkas’s music, Evangelatos’s words and Bofiliou’s singing, with arrangements by Kostas Parisis and production by Paraskevas Karasoulos. From the beginning, the record presented a collaboration rather than a singer working alone.
A subsequent partnership with composer Themis Karamouratidis gave this shared approach a lasting form. Bofiliou, Karamouratidis and Evangelatos developed a recognisable repertoire across albums and live performances. Εισιτήρια διπλά (Double Tickets) appeared in 2010, followed by Οι μέρες του φωτός (The Days of Light) in 2012 and Βαβέλ (Babel) in 2016. Η εποχή του θερισμού (Harvest Season) arrived in 2020, and Κάτι καίγεται (Something Is Burning) in 2024. In her interview for the Olympus Festival, she described songs changing with their performers and listeners. This emphasis on a continuing relationship helps explain why a concert can revisit familiar material without becoming simply a repetition of a record.
Works

Bofiliou’s work gives the interpreting voice a central role in a clearly credited creative team. On Εκατό μικρές ανάσες (A Hundred Small Breaths), Kostas Tsirkas composed the music and Gerasimos Evangelatos wrote the words. In the later partnership, Themis Karamouratidis is the composer and Evangelatos the lyricist. Bofiliou shapes their material through phrasing, emphasis and the energy of a public performance. Hearing her sing a song does not mean that she wrote its music or words.
The album titles build a compact world of images. Εισιτήρια διπλά (Double Tickets) evokes two people going somewhere together; Οι μέρες του φωτός (The Days of Light) brings time and light into the same phrase. Βαβέλ (Babel) and Η εποχή του θερισμού (Harvest Season) use broader cultural images, while Κάτι καίγεται (Something Is Burning) makes change sound immediate. These titles are useful first encounters with Greek vocabulary before a listener attempts a whole song. Her official discography links recordings to individual tracks, allowing a learner to choose a small, identifiable listening task. Across albums and concerts, the same repertoire can be heard with attention to different details: a sustained vowel, a pause, a change of volume or the way a phrase reaches an audience.
Legacy in Greece today
Bofiliou’s songs connect individual listening with the shared space of a concert. Begin with the official album page for Εισιτήρια διπλά: read the title and notice εισιτήρια, tickets. Then use this page’s adapted passage and audio to practise your own box-office conversation: Θα ήθελα δύο εισιτήρια (I would like two tickets) and Υπάρχουν διπλανές θέσεις; (Are there neighbouring seats?). Explain your preference with Προτιμώ να καθίσουμε μαζί (I prefer us to sit together). Swap roles and choose another pair of imaginary seats. The dialogue is an original learning exercise, not a lyric or a statement by the singer. A familiar album title becomes language for making a real cultural outing.
