Choosing between two apartments means comparing details, not simply labelling one “good” and the other “bad”. This activity uses fictional prices and sizes to practise πιο… από. You will build comparisons that the table supports and notice what the table cannot tell you. The numbers are exercise data, not current rental prices.
Read the two options

Ενοίκιο / μήνα means rent per month, and εμβαδόν means area. Apartment A costs 600 euros per month and measures 45 square metres. Apartment B costs 750 euros and measures 60 square metres. Keep both columns in view: the cheaper apartment is also the smaller one.
Build a supported comparison
Το διαμέρισμα Β είναι πιο ακριβό από το διαμέρισμα Α.
Το διαμέρισμα Α είναι πιο μικρό από το διαμέρισμα Β.
The first sentence says B is more expensive than A. The second says A is smaller than B. Πιο introduces the comparison; από introduces what you compare against. In these sentences, ακριβό and μικρό agree with the neuter singular noun διαμέρισμα. Πιο stays the same. You can also reverse the price comparison: Το διαμέρισμα Α είναι πιο φτηνό από το διαμέρισμα Β.
A comparison is not a recommendation
The table supports claims about price and area. It does not show noise, light, neighbourhood or condition. Το διαμέρισμα Α είναι πιο ήσυχο would say A is quieter, but you have no evidence for that here. A cheaper apartment is not automatically the better choice for every person.
Check four statements
- Complete the price comparison: Το διαμέρισμα Β είναι πιο ___ από το διαμέρισμα Α. Choose ακριβό or φτηνό.
- Complete the size comparison: Το διαμέρισμα Α είναι πιο ___ από το διαμέρισμα Β. Choose μικρό or μεγάλο.
- Supply the comparison word: Το διαμέρισμα Α είναι πιο φτηνό ___ το διαμέρισμα Β.
- Can the table prove that apartment B is quieter?

1. ακριβό: 750 is more than 600. 2. μικρό: 45 is less than 60. 3. από. 4. No: there is no information about noise.
Change one fact
Imagine A now costs 800 euros while all other details stay the same. Rewrite the price comparison before looking back at the original sentence. A is now more expensive, but it is still smaller. This helps you connect the Greek comparison to the evidence instead of memorising a fixed answer.
