Privacy Policy
Last updated: 19 July 2026
Who we are
grecfacile.ch (“the Service”) is a Greek-learning platform operated by an individual based in Switzerland. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and how you can exercise your rights.
For any data-protection question, contact us at privacy@grecfacile.ch.
Data we collect
Identity: your name, email address, and profile photo if you add one (or if you sign in with Google or Facebook).
Profile: your level, learning goals, a short bio, and — optionally — your date of birth and phone number (only if you enable SMS notifications).
Learning data: the exercises and exams you take, your answers, scores and progress.
Messages: messages you send to your tutor through the Service.
Payment: your subscription status. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store full card numbers.
Technical data: minimal browser local storage to keep your session and preferences.
How we use your data
To create and manage your account and authenticate you.
To provide the Service: show content matched to your level, save your progress and grade your exercises.
To let you and your tutor exchange messages.
To manage subscriptions and payments.
To send you email or SMS notifications, if you have enabled them.
Providers and sharing
We do not sell your data. We use processors that handle it only on our behalf:
Amazon Web Services (AWS) — hosting and database, in the Zurich (Switzerland) region.
Amazon Cognito — account authentication.
Stripe — payment processing.
Zoho Mail — email.
Google and Facebook — only if you choose “Sign in with Google / Facebook”.
Amazon Bedrock — AI-assisted grading of written (essay) answers.
Where your data is hosted
Your application data is hosted in Switzerland (AWS Zurich region). Some providers (e.g. Stripe, Google, Facebook) may process data in other countries under their own safeguards.
Retention
We keep your data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data, except where the law requires us to keep it (e.g. accounting obligations for payments).
Your rights
You can request access to your data, correction, deletion, or object to certain processing.
To exercise these rights, write to us at privacy@grecfacile.ch.
Cookies and local storage
We do not use advertising cookies. We use local storage strictly necessary for the Service to work (login session and display preferences).
Children
If the Service is used by a minor, it must be used with the consent and under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian.
Changes
We may update this policy. Any significant change will be noted on this page with a revised update date.
