When you add a Greek noun to your notes, include its article rather than recording the noun alone. This worksheet practises three singular dictionary forms. It does not teach every case or turn a short recall activity into proof that you know the whole grammar system.
Prepare three cards
- ο φίλος — a male friend
- η φίλη — a female friend
- το βιβλίο — a book
Put the Greek article and noun on one side, and the meaning on the other. Keep the written stress: φίλος, φίλη, βιβλίο. Read the complete pair before hiding it. In this activity the meanings distinguish φίλος from φίλη so that your prompt has a clear target.
Try both directions
First cover the meanings and explain each Greek pair. Then cover the Greek and write the article plus noun from each meaning. Recognising βιβλίο when you see it is a different task from producing το βιβλίο without the model. If you remember the noun but miss the article, mark the article as the part to practise; do not mark the entire answer correct.
Dictionary form is a starting point
These cards use singular nominative forms. Articles and nouns can change with their role in a sentence. Compare ο φίλος with Βλέπω τον φίλο, “I see the male friend.” The card is useful, but copying ο φίλος unchanged into every sentence would be wrong. Practise sentence forms separately with a grammar lesson; do not infer grammatical gender from an object’s physical features.

Make the next attempt useful
Shuffle the three prompts and try again without copying. Record one missed element, such as the article or the stress. Add a new noun only when you have checked its meaning and dictionary form in a reliable learning source. At your next session, try the earlier cards before looking at the answers. This is a suggested practice sequence, not a guaranteed timetable for remembering every noun.
